Pontiac Repair: Car dies, engine computers, start the car

Question
I have a 1990 GP SE, The car dies when stopping at lights ect. I have replaced fuel injectors, fuel pump, filters the gas relay swicth. It runs rough when cold, but smooths out when warm. But stills dies when under 2000 rpms. Thanks Brent

Answer
Hi brent:

Those cars were notorious for stalling issues. Try an idel leanr procedure on it. disconnect the battery let it sit for 10 minutes. get some throttle body cleaner and clean the throttle body and throttle body bore. reconnect the battery. turn the a/c off start the car once the idel smoothes out for the cleaner being burnt off set the parking brake and put the car in drive and let it sit there for 10 minutes with the a/c off if the cooling fan turns on shut the car off. if not wait that 10 minutes then put the car in park shut it off wait 1 minute and start the car up again and let it run for 1 minute  in drive again and then put it in park and shut it off wait 1 minute and see what ahppens from there. the engine computers are very touchy on that car. hope that helps. good luck :-)
