Pontiac Repair: 2009 g5 gt issue with gauges., engine rev, control modules

Hi there, so my question is, do you have any idea why my speed,fuel,rpm tachs, and all my warning lights will go crazy upon start up and sometimes while I am driving? This also turns off my power steering. It's driving me nuts, I can also hear and feel my car's engine rev up oddly at idle. Any information would be great, I am bringing it into gm on monday to see what they have to say. Thanks.

Hi Chris:

sounds like you have a data line issue with this car or one of the modules on the data line is acting up. all of the control modules (computers) are connected on a series of wires in a network so to speak and if somthing is goin on in one module it effects all the others on the network. OR if the data line is pinched or rubbed though on metal in the dash causing a short to ground what you discribed can happen. That car is notted for data lne issue by the steering column and by the radio. without knowing what codes are set in what modules it's pretty much impossible to tell you what the issuue here is I'm just guessing. I would guess that you have a data line wire issue more so then a module going down. I know it's not much help but when you take it in and they tell you it's one of these things at least you know they are not telling you a lie. good luck :-)
