Pontiac Repair: 2000 Sunfire turn signal, hood latch, squirt bottle

Question
Todd,My 2000 Sunfire's left turn signal blinks very fast and is
also dimm.I replaced the bulbs front and rear, and the little
peanut bulbs in the marker lights as well. When the lights are on
at night the left front running light in the signal lamp is out
completely. The green arrow turn indicator in the dash stays on
without blinking when the headlamps are on also.
Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Hey Bill. turn on the 4 way flashers and walk around the car and note which flasher/turn bulb is on dim or doesn't work right. If it's a rear one it mre then likely need a socket for the bulb in the tail lamp. if it's a front one then you more then likley have a bad ground connection in the front lamp harness VERY VERY common on that car. there are 3 or 4 grounds in that front lamp harness and they corrode and cause high resistance in the lamp harness ground and or power ckts. if you handy you can trace it down you need to unwrap all the tape on the harness and give each splice a tug anf you will find the one that is bad the wires will pull apart at the bad splice. they are in the harness behind where the washer squirt bottle is and ther is also one by the hood latch area as well. good luck :-)
