Pontiac Repair: car got loud, wheel bearing, pontiac grand am

My 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE started getting loud a few days ago.  Now it is really loud, like a truck.  I don't know if it is the muffler or the exhaust.  Any clue??

Hi Barbra:
is the noise there all the time even when the car is in park running or is it only there when your driving down the road? if it's there all the time your probaly right it's exhaust related. if it's only ther driving it it's possible a wheel bearing has gone bad. good luck :-}
