Pontiac Repair: 02 bonneville 3800 srs, cruise control module, throttle body

hey its chad. my cruise control dont work and when i scan it doesnt show any kind of code that has to do with cruise. what could it be?

Hi there:

There is only 1 code I can think of that would not allow the cruise to work. it's a driver for cruise inhibit. the engine control modusle sends a go no go request to the cruise control module. most of the time the issue is either with one of the switches in the column or in the module it's self. with out seeing it I can't tell you for sure what the issue may be. the modules go bad and also I have seen the ribbon inside the module that pulls on the cable break as well. you can check that easy enough. unhool the cable at the throttle body and then twust the cbale where it goes into the module and gently pull the cable out it should still be attached to the ribbon It' a yelly fabric if it freyed or broken you found the issue. else wise it's an eletrical issue of some sort.
