Pontiac Repair: car start, pontiac g6, battery cables

Question
I have a 2008 Pontiac G6 2.4L 4d sedan. I am experiencing problems with the car cranking. when i turn the key in the ignition all of the lights will come on, the dinging noise will sound, the AC will even blow, but the car will not crank. At first I was told it was a battery, so I purchased a new battery and put it in the car, still will not crank. The fuses have been checked and none of them are damaged. The car does not make any harsh noises, it simply will not crank. It also does not sound like the starter because it does not make the sound like it is turning.....

Answer
Hi Apryl:

Like the spelling of that, When this happens does the odometer show (error) od not any warning lamps on on the dash that are abnormal? I would take a look at the battery cables especially the ground (-)  black cable. they have a tendency of going bad where it attaches to the engine/tranmission assembly. give the cable a tug and see it it pulls out of the eylet where it's attached to the engine is so it needs a cable. Pretty common on that year car. good luck :)
