Pontiac Repair: side door, override switch, pontiac transport

Question
1997 pontiac transport side door automatic will not work automatically, I have to open and closed manually. Can you tell whats wrong with door? Also will not work with over head switch or switch by door.

Hi there:

well that door is a pretyy complex system. it can be something simple like the contacts on the door and the pillare post on the van if they look corroded or discolored use a VERY fine fand paper and clean the contacts and the plunger contatcs on the door. use some dieletric grease on the plungers and the contacts. Pull the fuse in the under hood fues box I belive it's marked PSD or Radio on that van. Same thin in the glove box fuse bix. not sure where the fuses are in each box... then re instalkl the fuses turn the over head switch OFF ofr the door. open and close the door x2 manually. then turn the door override switch back on and try it. good luck :)
