Pontiac Repair: tensioner, heli coil kit, serpentine belt

hi Todd read your previous answers saw my exact problem but no solution to problem was listed it is  1999 pontiac montana tensioner pully on serpentine belt took bolt out for arm it would not tighten back up not for new part not for old wondering if anyone found out why? it is making me crazy thanks in advance love this site.

Hi Jim:
The only answer I have for you is to use a heli-coil kit and hope it holds. Ther is a lot of stress on the bolt for the tensioner. usually Heli-coils do not hold up will in that type of condition. It's worth a try and you will need a angle drill due to the fact ther is no room to work in there. take the bolt that holds the tensioner to the block to the auto parts store to have them match the thread size it's a Metric bolt probably 10MM course thread.Good luck :-}
