Pontiac Repair: 2002 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8 L V6 85,000 miles, pontiac bonneville, seatbelt light

Question
Hello, I have an 02 Pontiac Bonneville 38L. It has a strange problem. Some of my dash lights such as air bag light, brake light, ABS light come on intermittently. My flashing seatbelt light works sometimes but when it does it stays lit instead of flashing. Also, if its cold or raining I hear a high pitch noise, and my voltage meter will drop until the car almost dies. The battery is new. I changed the alternator. I had the alternator and battery tested after changing them, just out of curiosity, and the battery was only holding a 25% charge, while the alternator was within normal range. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jennifer

Answer
Hi Jennifer:

sounds like all these things are tied together. I would get the car scanned for codes first and foremost most of the bix box car parts stores do it for free what codes are in what modules. there hass to be a common thred here. it could be something line a bad ground wire connection on the body or the engine. A bad battery cable could do this as well. once you know what codes are set that will give you a starting point. good luck :-}
