Pontiac Repair: Pontiac Sunfire dies, but starts again after a while, pontiac sunfire, fuse block

Question
I have been having a problem with my '96 Pontiac Sunfire dying while it's running, and not wanting to start again. I took it to a mechanic, he put in a used ignition switch, and it worked for 3 months. I thought it was still the ignition switch because it was used, so I bought a new one and put it in. It worked for another month, but then it failed to start again. I took it to the mechanic again, but all he did was put in another switch. But the the weird thing is that the car died on the way home from the shop, sat in the driveway for about 3 or 4 weeks, and started right back up. I drove it around for about a half hour, and it died again.
The fan doesn't come on by itself, so I have wires going from the fan to the floorboard and I hook then together when I start the car so the fan is going all the time. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Just something to consider.

Answer
Hi Mario:

well when this dies out you have to see what your missing. let it run in the drive way untill it quits running and then check the fuses for power in the dash fuse block and in the under hood fuse block you should have a bright test light on all the fuses if not then you have to look for a reason for a loss of power. It may not be that it could be an issue with the ignition system of fuel system on the engine. Any service engine soon lamp come on? if so take the car to one of the big box car parts stores and hve it scanned for codes and see what is stored it may lend a clue as to what is going on here. These cars were not noted for stalling issues...
