Pontiac Repair: stereo LOC, grand am gt, ac delco

i just bought a 2000 pontiac grand am gt and the stereo is on LOC could you help me get the code to unlock it

Hi Rose.

You need togoto a GM dealer or an AC delco delaer someone put in a theft lock code along the line and the battery must have gone dead or was disconnected and that code needs to be put back into the radio. If you have that original code I can tell you how to do it if you don't have it being that you lost it or are a second owner you need to goto a dealer so they can retrive the back up code to put in the radio to unlock it. There is a reason that is like that and for liabaility reasons I can't tell you either. sorry. Good luck :-)
