Answer
hI brian:

do you have head lamps when you turn them on? If they will turn on and you try to crank the ca do the lmaps go out? if no lamps and everything is dead you have a ground or power issue. that car has 2 (+) cables stacked together possably a bad connection between the cables and the battery "corrosion" same thing with the ground cable there is just one but maybe a bad connection at the battery. do you have a digital volt meter? if so put the meter on DC volatge turn the head lamps one and measure the voltage across the ground cable from the battery to the body ground and the same thing with the positive cable the reading the the meter should not be more then .020 Volt if more you have a bad connection or a bad cable causing a high voltage drop. good luck :)
