Pontiac Repair: 1998 pontiac bonneville front brake pads, pontiac bonneville, rabestos

Question
I was wondering if there is a diagram to show you how to change the front brake pads. Also what tools will be needed.

Answer
Hi there Danielle:

No but it's a pretty easy job you will need a 3/8" allen head bit socket to take the 2 bolts that hold the caliper to the front suspension. and you will need a large C-clamp to press the piston back into to the caliper It's realy an easy job but if the rotors pulsate when you stop hard then you will need to have the rotors turned or if they are extremly rusty looking where the pads contact the rotors then just replace them. use good quality parts like rabestos or bendix or parts from a Carquest suto parts store. when you take the poads off notye the orientation of the sqeeker sensor on the pads and put the new ones back on the same way you took them off. Also get a can of silicone brake lube and lube the calipers anywhere that they contacy the caliper or the pads contact the suspension. Good luck :)
