Pontiac Repair: car, engine cranks, pontiac grand prix

Question
Hello, I hope you can help. I had my spark plugs,control module, & fuel regulator replaced a couple months ago because my car kept dying when I put it in gear. I went to drive it last night & died & now won't start again. I have a floating gas tank. I put 2 gallons of gas in it & that didn't help. Do you think I should put in more gas? I have been having water issues with it & overheating problems. I have a hole in my radiator hose & my dad took off a gasket underneath the bleeder the radiator cap & put some radiator sealant in place of the gasket. Would my water problems have anything to do with it? I haven't changed my oil yet. If my moter is locked up...would it act like it wants to start & is out of gas?  Please let me know if you have any ideas. I have a "93" Pontiac Grand Prix. It have a 3.1 engine & its a V6.

Answer
Hi there.
If the engine cranks over it's not seized up. if the engine wants to crank but the starter motor just clicks and does nothing else it could be. take the serpantine belt off and try to trun the engine over by hand from the front crank blaancer bolt. if it cranks over fine but will not run you need to check for fuel pressure up at the tap on the fuel rail. if it has over 35 PSi it should run and that is engough pressure. next check for spark at the spark plugs you need a "spark" checker for this all 6 cylinder should have spark if not you need to see why not either a bad crank sensor or ignition module. that is where I would start looking.
good luck :-}
