Pontiac Repair: 01 pontiac grand am, aftermarket radio, pontiac grand am

I have a 01 Pontiac grand am with theftlock I tryed putting an aftermarket stereo in it and the stereo wont turn on everything is hooked up right I was wondering if I had to buy something special in order for it to work?

Make sure that you didn't blow any fuses when yu hooked it up. the theft lock will have nothing to do with putting an aftermarket radio in it. That only applies to the factory radio. with outout seeing what you have I can't even tel you where to start just double check all your connections some aftermarket radios come with a harness that will plug right into the factory harness and then the harness plugs right into your new radio with out the need to splice ane wires at all. good luck :)
