Pontiac Repair: bypass anti theft, auto lamps, head lamps

Question
When I start my car it turns over and then shuts off immediately.  Is there a way you can reset the anti theft?  My car is sitting at work 45 minutes away from my home.

thank you

Answer
Hi Dan there is no "easy way" to by pass the sensor. Do this it should relearn the sensor and allow the car to start and run so you can get it to a repair shop. crank the car over and let it die keep the key in the run position and turn off all the accy's leav the key one for 10 minutes the lamp will either keep flashing for 10 minutes and then go out or it will be on steady for 10 minutes and then go out depneds on the model car and year I don't know either you didn't mention it. afet rthe lamp goe out turn the key to off pull the key out wait 1 minute and then restart the car it should start and run and the lamp may be on for a few seconds and then go out. Alos when the car is in the 10 minute learn make sure the head lamps are off so it doesn't kill the battery again depending on the cra either turn off the auto lamps or apply the parking brake before you start this so the lamps do not come on. good luck :)
