Pontiac Repair: Cabin Air Filter, cabin air filter, cabin filter

My 2007 Pontiac Torrent has had a foul smell for the past month.  I was told that it's most likely the cabin air filter.  Where would this be located so I can change it.

Hi there:

the cabin filter is located under the cowl on the right side of the car. the cowl is the area under the wiper blades. there are 4 or 5 retainers that hod an access door onto the cowl. remove the retainers and the filter is under there. That could be a likley cantidate or possably a plugged drain for the HVAC could be an issue as well but at this time of the year not liekly the A/c seldom runs in the extreme cold. not to say that the issue didn't start in the height of the hot sticky summer though. the drain is on the fire wall under where the heater and a/c lines go into the heater box about center of the car down low on the firewall. good luck :)
