Pontiac Repair: Fuel feed line, bonneville fuel leak

Question
Have a 96 Pontiac Bonneville. The fuel feed line is leaking. Will the tank need to be dropped to repair or replace?

Answer
Hey Mark:

it depends on where the line is leaking. If yopu live in the rust belt like I do the usual place for the lines to leak are the ones on the top of the gas tank which are the fuel sending unit lines. if that were the case then yes the tank has to come down. Now keep in mind if you have gas lines leaking the brake lines are not far behind so if you remove the tank be perpared that uf you even bump or nudge a brake line tey may start to leak as well. usually these snowball if you will to need brake lines front to rear and fuel line front to rear. the reason for the fuel front to rera is ther are plastic lines that attch the sending unit lines ro the car and the fuel lines on the car rot so bad you can't get the plastic lines off the metal lines. so consider the worst and then say toy your self " Self, is this car worth dumping a boat load of $ into " Good luck :)
