Pontiac Repair: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville-Traction Control, ABS and Brake Light Illuminated, pontiac bonneville, 2000 pontiac bonneville

Question
All 3 of these lights stay illuminated thus the traction control is definitley not working at all and it seems like the ABS is no working either but I do still have brakes thank God. Scans have yielded no error messages. Any idea as to what may be causing this?

Answer
Hi John:

if those lights are on there has to be codes set in more then 1 of the modules. a lot of Genaric scan tools will yield no codes stored. I would stop by one of the big box auot parts stores and have them scan the whole car for codes. se what modules have what codes and go from there. Most of the time on these cars the ABS lamp is on due to a wheel speed sensor failure of a jumper harness going to one of the speed sensors.  If could have some sort of an ABS contol module failure as well but if someone were to scan that module only and there was a complete failure with that module it would come up with no communication with that module. and if that were the case the other modules ion the car would set codes for not being able to communicate with the ABS module. see what you come up with and if there are codes set at least that is a way to start looking. good luck :)
