Pontiac Repair: 2000 sunfire hesitation, crankshaft position sensor, spark plug wires

Question
I have a 2000 sunfire 2.2, i've recently replaced the crankshaft position sensor and fuel filter...The car starts up fine but shakes a bit an sputters until i wamp on the gas pedal a few times and then it idles normal. Today on the way home from work it stalled and wouldn't restart unless the gas pedal was to the floor and i had to wamp on the gas a few times again and it ran ok then too. My blinkers come on but don't blink and same for the 4-ways and the driver side headlight is real dim and sidemarker light is out... Any ideas??? No check engine light is on just service engine soon light is on.

Answer
Hi Jeff:

well the service vehicle soon lamp on is due to a DRL issue with the head lamps more then lilley the forward lamp harness is junk. there are a few splices in the harness for the head lamps and they corrode and the ckts. open up or have increased resistance and the lamps quit working.
as for the running issue it could be a lot of things first off get the car scanned for codes and see what codes are stored most of the bug box auto parts stores do it for free. once you see what is stored you will have a diretion to go in. But a few things to keep in mind a bad set of spark plug wires can cause a misfire cold or damp. a plugged or restricted fuel filter can ause a running issue cold. A coolant temp sensor that is not reading right will cause a cold runing issue. good luck :)
