2001 pontiac aztek, have 410 code secondary air pump malfuncton. replaced air pump. only comes on when it
wants to. engine 3.4. code still comes up. unable to get inspected code wont go out. please help

Hi Tina:

on those engines the A.I.R. valve check vlaves would tend to go bad and would cause the code to set either one or both can be bad. Also i have see in rare instances the control solenoid for the vacuum go bad on them as well. But most of the time the check valves are the culprit.
