how do i check fuel pressure on a 97 grand am GT  with a 3.1 sfi v6

Hey Jeb:

you need a fuel pressure gauge first. the pressure tap is on end of the fuel rail right by the power steering pump take the black cap off the tap and thread the gauge on to the tap. turn the key to the run position but don't start it it should read around 44 PSI once the engine is running it will be 3-4 pounds lower.
