Pontiac Repair: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT ABS Warning Light, brake warning light, pontiac grand prix

Question
I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT that had 60 miles on it when I bought it in 2002-it has 90K now.  About 6 months ago, my ABS light came on, Trac light is saying "Trac Off", and the red Brake warning light on the dash went on!  Firestone ran a diagnostic test and the code said Front Right Sensor was bad.  In the last week, I have replaced both front hubs (Timken), both outer tie-rod ends, both rotors and the brake pads.  I also made sure that the brake fluid was full (adding the fluid turned off the "Brake" warning light that was on the dash) but the ABS is still on!

I contacted GM customer service about this and their answer was, "SORRY, THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS RPOBLEM FOR ANY OF THESE CARS, BUT, WE WILL HELP YOU SET UP A TIME FOR YOU TO TAKE IT INTO A DEALER AND HAVE DIAGNOSTICS RUN WHICH WILL COST YOU $105.00!)  They would not even pay to have the diagnostic test run.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Lance:

well I'll just assume that it still setting a code for the right front sensor??? there are multiple codes for each cornner of the car. Open/shorted/erratic. I depends on which code set. Those bearings you replaced are a good brand name product not a cheapy part. My guess would be that you have a bad jumper harness that goes from the engine harness to the abs speed sensor on the hub. That is a pretty common issue a bad harness will set a open/ erratic code not a shorted code. Good luck :)
