Pontiac Repair: Programmed key fob, ac delco, pontiac grand prix

Question
I recently programmed a new key fob for a 97 Pontiac grand prix, but
noticing a stumbling in the acceleration after it warms up. I noticed too
that the already been on check engine light starts to flash and resumes
being on . I haven't checked the codes yet, do you think I may have
messed something up when I was in the Mall/Pgm mode?

Answer
Hi Kevin:

the 2 have nothing to do with each other. the negine light ios caused by a misfire more then likley caused by a bad spark plug wor plug wire. More so a wire then a plug but if the wire goes bad at the plug end they have a tendency to carbon track the spark plug and then the plug is had as well. If this car has a lot of miles on it I would suggest changine the spark plugs and wires together. Use only AC Delco plugs and Delco wires as well. Good luck :)
