Pontiac Repair: Transmission Fluid, pontiac g6, pan gasket

Question
Hi,
I have a 06 Pontiac G6 GT with the automatic transmission with manual shift. I have 98000 miles on it and need to change the transmission fluid and filter. How do I do that and how do I get the new fluid in the transmission since there is no dip stick?
Thanks

Answer
Hi John:

first off get a filter from a GM dealer. The pan gasket is reuable but with that many miles on it get a new one. there is a fill plug on the top of the trnamission it's red in color that is how you fill it remove the plug and add fres oil there. ther is a 7/16" head plug on the right side of the tranmission near where the r/h axle shaft comes out of the nose on the right side get the transmission warm and pull out that plug the fluid should just start to dribble out if it's over full let it drain untill it dribbles out if it's not full enough keep adding untill it's full I want to say that trasnmission take 6 or 7 qts. of frluid with a pan drop and filter change. I forgot to mention the car should be parked on a level surface when you check the fluid level. Good luck :)
