Pontiac Repair: 2001 trans am, relay switch, head lamp

I have an 01 trans am and when I turn the car off or lock or unlock the car the headlights open and close followed by a grinding noise like the motor is still turning after they close.  I think it might be a relay or alarm problem but I'm not certain any suggestions?  If it is a relay switch is this a candidate for a do it yourself repair? any suggestions would be appreciated.

it's more then likely 2 things The head lamp motoro control module is bad and it went bad due to one of the headlamp motors having an over run condition. if you turn the hadlamps on and then off do either of them grind? If one of them is grinding when the fold the lamp doors down that motor is bad and it cause the contrl module to be bad as well. it was apretty common malfunction back then. Good luck :)
