Pontiac Repair: 1995 pontiac sunfire 2.3L, clutch master cylinder, hand vacuum pump

Question
QUESTION: i just replaced the slave cylinder, tried to blled the clutch line but i think there may still be air in the line while checking for a solution online i read that there is a clutch damper can you tell me where that would be located and if you have any advice on how to get the air out of the line it would be greatly appreciated

ANSWER: Hi Chris:

clutch damper? I have never heard of any such thing. . .  I would get a hand vacuum pump/bleeder kit that is used to blled brakes. Bleed the clutch that way. if you still can't get a pedal then I would suspect the clutch master cylinder is to blame. Or maybe you have an issue with the pressure plate for the clutch. what was the reason for the slave replacement leaking? or no pedal?

QUESTION: the slave cylinder was replaced due to no pedal, the guy i bought it from told me he had had it in to a mechanic and they told him it was the slave cylinder that needed to be replaced but he just didnt want to spend the money to have it done on an older car, is there any other way to bleed them removing all air from the line without the vacuum

Answer
just a manual bleed like you would a brake system 2 people doing ti one person depresses the pedal while the other opens the bleeder wait untill the fluid stops flowing fast close the bleeder and then have the person lift the pedal up. If you not geeting any fluid out when the pedal is depressed the bleeder is opened up then the master cylinder is bad. It's a pretty simple system.
