Pontiac Repair: air or heat inop, water leaks, test light

2004 grand Prix air heat or defrost will not blow out after replacing all fuses

Hi Mela:

if the blower motor is not working then it's usually either the motor it's self of the control module for the motor or BOTH. these older ones had a tendency to have water leaks and it would fill up the heater box with water and take out both units the control module and the motor. you check it by doing this turn the key to run pull doen the panel under the dash on the right side of the car under the glove box and the motor is right there unplug the motor and turn the fan to hi speed use a 12 volt test light across 2 wires the light should light bright if not the control module is more then likley bad. if it lights up the motor is bad. pretty easy to figure out.
