Pontiac Repair: Surging on boost, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP that surges when if you step on the gas gradual & the boost lines are from 1-3. Why does that happen?  Also, my digital speedometer, does not always work it fades in & out especially in the warm weather.

Hi Diane:

wellefirst off you more then likley need an exchage unit on the speedo the odometer is not servce we get them from a rebuild facility and jut replace them. As for the sureg it can be a few things from a split vacuum line under the super charger or a supercharger to intake manifold gaskety that has failed and causing a leak as well. It could be a dirty or bad mass air flow sensor. that is the direction I would look at first. Good luck :)
