Pontiac Repair: Starting-electrical problem, head lamps, altenator

Question
so my 99 grand am se 3400 has been acting up lately. a couple days after returning from a long car trip about ten hours, my car one day didn't start up, no electrical at all so i figured it must be a dead battery, so i jump started it and it ran but when i went to put it into gear it shut off. so i jumped it again and then let it run then it got me twenty feet before shutting off. so the next day i take the battery to auto-zone and it checked out ok so i decided to check the altenator which was also fine. but when i put the alternator back in my car started right up. and drove fine for a couple of days before one time at the gas station after going in and coming out for cigarettes i couldn't start my car. i couldn't even jump it but luckily someone had a batterybooster that plugs into the wall which did the job somehow after not being able to jump it. then the next morning it wouldn't start again this time i had a battery charger that plugs in the wall but that didn't work so the only thing left i could think to do was undo my battery and wait and then hook it back up which did the trick. so now whenever i have this problem that's what i do and i get it going every time. what do you think is going on here? do i need a new computer? also when i hook the battery back up sometimes the trunk will pop.

Answer
Hi Kris:
when the car will not start/crank do you have interior lights and head lights? if you turn the key to run so the accy's work like blower motor and radio power windows? If you have interior and head lamps chnaces are it's not a battery issue if the accy's do not work when it will not crank I would look at a possible issie with the ignition switch on this car. High resiatnce in the contacts in the switch. good luck :)
