Pontiac Repair: confused, metal comb, rust belt

i have a 1999 pont bonnivill 3.8l    car runs fine untill u try to roll down the window then it strts running rough and i lose all the dash lites then it will die sumtimes.  i have to remove the bat cables for a minute then it will start and run fine. no trubble codes come up

Hey Delbert:

you have a gorund wire connection issue going on here. there is a big ground splice pack under the carpet on the left side of the car under the drivers inside sill plate. More then likley you live in a Humid area or in the rust belt part of the US and corrosion had gotten the best of that splice pack. pull up the carpet and yout find the splice pack I'm speaking of it has maybe 8 wire sin it and they are all black take the splice pack apart and the metal comb that attaches all the grounds togheter is corroed clean it all up and put it back together again and you should be all good. If the capet and padding is wet then look for the source of the water leak into the car if you don't fix it you going to have the same problem again. Good luck :)
