Pontiac Repair: unlock code for 96 bonntiville, delco electronics, ac delco

what is the unlock code the the radio , we changed the battery and now can't use the radio, Thanks

Every radio has it's own code. apparently someone put their own security code in the radio and when you reconnected the battery the display went to loc. If no code was input to the radio then it would have come right back on without the LOC. The radio has a back up code that can be extracted from the radio but you need a dealer or AC delco dealer to call the back up radio code in to DELCO electronics and they will issue a unlock code for the radio. It's a long drawn out ordeal I'm sorry I can't help you out with it. usually a dealer will do it for a nominal carhe and same with an ac delco dealer. I can tell you this if you tried to unlock it your self you get 3 chances and after that the key must repamin on for an hour or it will not allow you to enter a valid code or any code for that matter... This is a royal pain when a car scomes into the shop for repairs and the customer has no clue as to the unlock code... Sorry and good luck :)
