QUESTION: Ok I found out the code and what it's for. P1870 transmission component slipping... I would like to know how hard that is to replace and where it is in the transmission.  Auto zone said the part is cheap from GM. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Carrie:

The 1870 code is not for just one part something in the transmission is slipping It's not just a part that is bad. More then likley 2 things are happening here Either you have clustch plack that is burnt up in the transmission like 3 or 4'th gear or you have a bad torque converter clutch in the converter or a torque converter solenoid bad in the trasmission or a bad/sticking valve in the valve body this code is sort of a genaric code for something slipping but it doesn't pin point just 1 part. If this car has a lot  of miles on it it's more then likely due for a overhaul and have it freshened up.
