Pontiac Repair: brake lines?????, size threads, gas tank

i have a 99 grand am with a 2.4L engine.i need to replace the brake lines running to the back of the car could u tell me which lines r which? i dont want to cut the fuel lines. their r 3 big lines and 2 small lines.??????

Hey Eric:

You can buy that whole assembly of lines from front to rear for that car we do them all the time. it's not as expensive as you would think and that way you will not mix up the lines.. You really can't anyways because the ends that go into the anti lock valve and or master cylinder have different size threads so you can mix them up. buying the whole assembly is truely the way to go and much easier to do the job and you don't have to run back and forth to the parts store for lines and fittings. It has all the lines that you need but a short section that goes to the right rear from about the gas tank to the wheel and short section of maybe 2' you would have to make up.. Good luck :)
