Pontiac Repair: knock sensor, knock sensor, new engines

Where is the knock sensor on a 91 Bonneville 3.8L?  I am getting a code 43 - Electronic Spark Control failure.  I can't find the knock sensor.  I have a service manual but nowhere does it say where it is located? Can you help me?

Hi Gary:

It's been a Looonnngggg time since I worked on one that old. It's on the block either in between thge engine and transmission  or on the other side of thye block by the starter motor it has just a single dark blue wire on it. The newer 3.8 liter engiens have 2 and that is where they are on the new engines I belive the older ones are in the same spot just don't remember what side of the engine. good luck :)
