Pontiac Repair: Fuel Pressure Regulator, fuel pressure regulator, pontiac grand prix

Question
I have 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and it starts without any problems in the morning --- after the car has sat for any length of time I need to tap on the gas peddle to get the car to turn over. I was told to check out the fuel pressure regulator, but I don't know where it's at. I have been looking at various websites and I can't find any that have a diagram of where this would be located, besides under the hood. Thank you for your time.

Answer
The pressure regulator on that car is in the tank. that is a gen III 38000 it has a return less fuel system so ther is not a regulator on the engine. That was the first year for that system. I would clean the throttle body and throttle body bore with car or ait intake cleaner and see if that helps.. Dies the car have a good strong battery in it It cranks the car okay when the car is hot? If not have the battery tested and replace if need be. Alos check the ground wire that goes from the battery to the farme just below the battery and make sure it's clean and tight. Good luck :)
