Pontiac Repair: 1999 grand am gt dim headlight, resitance, volt meter

Question
what would cause one headlight to be dim. replaced bulb, still dim

Answer
Hi John:

you have high resitance in one of the wires to the bulb that's dim. Did you replace the bulb with the EXACT same part # bulb? if not that will cause issue as well the bulbs have to be the same side to side to to the DRL operation. Your going to have to use a volt meter and see what side of the bulb is lacking either a bad ground or power feed the volt meter will read low on the side that is causing the issue and the n you can trace that side of the ckt back to find the issue. good luck :)
