Pontiac Repair: 2006 Pontiac Torrent, gain acces, 12 volt

Hello: the tail door of my 2006 Pontiac Torrent is locked. The remote unlock and lock the four doors however it does not the tail door. What can I do to fix it?

stand behinfd the truck and unlock the doors and see if you can hear the lock actautor working in the tailgate If the actautor is clicking but not opening the door the lock could be jammed. If the actaultor doesn't make a clicking noice then either the actautor is bad in the lock or possably a bad bidy control module. I have seen that happen on these trucks.. The first thing you need to do it get it open. Not an easy task and you will more then likley break the trim trying to remove it from the inside.. I'm not sure if that truck has an access holt to get to the lock or not.. on some trucks with a gate there is an access plug you can pop off at the bottom by the lock and gain acces to the latch to open it.. If not then you will have to try to pull the trim off from the inside and Like I said it will break trying to get to the lock.. once you get it off and can see the lock you can use a test light 12 volt and check to see if the lock actuatro is getting the siganl to unlock the latch. the light should light when you press the unlock button from the remote or either of the door lock switches.. good luck :)
