Pontiac Repair: rear struts on 2000 sunfire, rear struts, spring compressor

I have a 2000 sunfire 2.2 engine and i need to replace the rear struts. Is it better to buy the complete strut with the coil spring or just the strut? Also, what else will i need and is there any diagrams or anything to look at on how to do it step by step?

well if you do just the struts you are going to need access to a spring compressor, DO NOT remove the strut nut with the spring loaded you could kill yourself.  Depending on the mileage, i would suggest getting the complete strut and spring pre-assembled
