Pontiac Repair: 99 Sunfire Headlights, pontiac sunfire, beam headlights

I have a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L 4cyl.not turbo charged. The DRL and the low beam headlights work but when I turn on the hi beams the headlights go out. DRL's remain on. There is no instrument cluster hi beam icon illuminated when hi beams are turned on. There are no fog lamps on this model and the head light bulbs are new Sylvania 9007's. Can you point me in the right direction?

Hey Don more then lilley you have an issue here with the forward lamp wire harness there are multiple splice for the headlamp wires and one or more of them have corroded and or broken due to water seeping into the harness. If indeed that is what happened do not try to fix it just replace the harness that one lasted 11 years bfore it failed if you try to fix it it's just a temp fix and it will happen again.
