Pontiac Repair: 99 Quad 4, ehaust, quad 4

All ignition components replaced and fuel press. reg. #1 cyl tdc timing mark on balancer correct. Will not run keeps fuel soaking plugs. Does have spark and compression. Any ideas?

After replacing all those parts does the engine have spark on any of the cylinders? You need a spark checker and the check for park on the companion cylinders. 1/4 and 2/3 are are paired together so if you check cylinder 1 make sure #4 plug boot is grounded and vise versa for 2/3 and see if you indeed have spark.. If you have spark and it still will not run I would suspect possably the engien may have jumped time those engines were noted for jumping time and will not run they will have compression but not enough to run. What would happen is one of the shoes for the timing chain would break and then the chain would jump time on the ehaust cam and they will not run. in order to check the chain timing the timing cover needs to be removed to actaully check it..  Good luck :)
