Pontiac Repair: retained accessory power, pontiac bonneville ssei, pontiac bonneville

Question
Hi, 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI does not shut down the retained accessory power with the ignition key removed or when the drivers door is opened. The clock display will drain the battery completely in about 48 hours. The retained accessory power is on all the time. Should I be looking for a relay in the right side under the glove compartment?

Answer
Hi Harry:

well it can be a bunch of things but the 2 most liley things would be the RAP replay or the remote function module which is right near the fuse/relay center on the right side of the dash. either the module is keeping the RAP relay on or the relay is just stuck on. 1 or the other.. If you had a scan tool you couls look at the RAP module data and see if the relay is commanded on or not. you can unplug it and see if the rap stays on if so then the relay is bad if it goes out then the module is keeping the rap relay on.
Good luck :)
