Pontiac Repair: 03 Grand Prix SE wiper blade arm, windshield wipers, wiper blade

'03 Grand Prix SE windshield wipers. After a freezing rain/snow my son did not completely clear the windshield and when he turned the wipers on - the drivers side worked fine but the pass. side was still frozen and stuck. Once it was freed from the ice it would only move a little bit. It appears the drive at the bottom of the wiper arm was "stripped" or?? and wouldn't move the pass. wiper - only the drivers side would do the full wipe cycle. Is there a "bushing"?? or ?? that can be replaced at the pass. wiper blade arm? or?? Thanks Todd

Hi Grant:

The arm is stripped out on the wiper transmission. that is the weak link in the system. You will need a new arm. there is just a nut under the plastic cap tak that nut off and pull up on the arm and it will come right off. Use a small wire brush and clean off all the stripped aluminum off the crations on the wiper trasnmission if you don't the new arm will strip out as well. Good luck :)
