Pontiac Repair: 99 sunfire gt power windows, sunfire gt, silicone spray

my 1999 sunfire gt has a problem with the power windows. I believe its the little computer box under center console power window switches. the windows go up a little then they stop if you take the key out put it back in they go up a little more let me know what your opinion is thanks Logan.

Hi Logan:

No I don't think it's the switch. It's more then likely a bad window regulator or window run channels and the motor is binding going back up and it's tripping the circuit breaker inside the motor so intunr the motor may be be bad as well if it keeps tripping and cutting out like you said. I would replace the complete assembly window regulator and motor for that side of the car. depending on if this is a 2 door or a 4 door matters on how it's serviced. I belive a 2 door comes as an assembly motor and regulator. A 4 door is service differently the motor and regulator come seperate. replace moth of them and lube the windo run channels with a pure silicone spray lube. Good luck:)
