Pontiac Repair: Engine Swap, pontiac bonneville, car body

Hello,

  I have a really nice 99 Pontiac Bonneville. I have went through 2 engines in the past 2 years due to the faulty top end on these motors. I want to drop in an engine out of a 2004 or 2005 bonneville and was wondering what else needs to be swapped out???  Thanks in advance.   This car does not have the supercharged powerplant...

Hi Eddy:

That engine will not work in 2000 they changed the design of the engine you need one from the 97-99 vinatge. the newer one is still a 3800 but the plumbing on the enegin and the motor mount set up on the block is different due to the fact that in 200 the car body chnaged.
