Pontiac Repair: Blazer wont start, chevy blazer, rear hatch

Question
I took apart entire dash to install heater core in my 1998 Chevy Blazer. After reassembly of the dash car won't start. The check engine light comes on, but the dome will not nor any hazards etc. The lights flicker, and combination flasher fuse is humming, even though the car is not on. The rear hatch pops when you push the brake pedal. Any suggestions on what may be the problem.

Answer
Hi Craig:

Well obvioulsy with out seeing it it's hard to say what the issue is but I can guess that you have a bad connection with one of the connector you took apart while take ing the dash out or you left a ground wire loose and or off. It's a gound wire issue and tyhe humming noise and the hatch popping is due to circuits backfeeding through each other looking for a good ground path. I can only tell you to be pedal your setep in the job and bouble chek all your connectors and gound wires to the body. It' also possably that you may have pinched a harness when putting the dash board back in? Good luck :)
