Pontiac Repair: J-Body Engine Swap, 3800 engine, cracked block

Question
I have A 1996 Sunfire gt. anybody knows the stock 2.4's are junk...Well easily destroyed anyway...mine has a cracked block...
the Solution:3800 Series 1...just barely fits between the front wheels, firewall, and radiator. Now for the question. Is There any way that i could use The Original Isuzu 5 speed in the car with the 3800 series 1 that i'm in the process of rebuilding? Or would I Be Forced to use the 4 speed auto that Came with the 3800?
Because it doesn't take a genius to realize a manual with an extra gear is faster....and more efficient...but i just do not know whether the transmission is at all compatible with the much larger engine i'm going to install. Please reply soon as i Have a lot of work ahead of me having only a couple inches of space to get my hand and a wrench into....but a good 3800 lasts as long as a whole garage full of them DOHc2.4's. Long Story Short, This thing's gonna be fast. Can I Use the 5sp. Or do i need to just use the 4-auto that i got with my engine?

Answer
Hi David:

The 3800 engine will not mate up to any of the transmissions that will fit into a sunfire. the bolt pattern on the block is different so eithe the manual transmission or the 4 spped auto will not mate up to that engine also neither of them would be able to handle the torque that the 3800 engien can deliver. The trasnmiison that will mate up to that engine is a 4 speed it's a 4t60 or a 4t65 transmission and the problem ther is the size. Ther is NO WAY a 3800 with the proper transmiison will fin under the hood of that car. Sorry.
