2002 pontiac montana 3.4L
starter clicks changed starters sill the same. checked all ground wires to body and engine block .all are in good cond. and tight battery has 12.5 volts not running .  all fuses are good  but cannot find starter relay to check it. also fuel guage goes nuts when it was running .we know the tank is full but after you start it ,it goes to empty and fuel light comes on  any help or info would be greatly appreciated  thanks andy

Hi Andy:

The starter relay is up by the battery on the side of the radiator. did you check to see what your volatge was on the purple wire at the starter when your cranking the car over. It shoul;d be the same as at the battery if not you have high resistance somewhere in the ckt. It may be the relay has high resistance in the contacts or possably a wire corrosion issue. As for the fuel gauge it needs a level ssneor on the fuel pump module. That is VERY common on these vans. Good luck :0
