Pontiac Repair: 2002 Sunfire, ecotec engine, aluminum rims

Question
I have a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire.Ecotec engine, automatic trans.I have recently replaced my brake drums, rotors, pads %26 shoes. Everything seemed to be fine. Last week I had winter tires and new aluminum rims installed. I noticed a grinding while I was turning sharp to the left when I applied the brakes. I removed the front left tire today and could not find anything abnormal. I did notice that there was a gap between the dampening rubber bushings on the stabilizing arm. I tightened it up as much as I could but could not close the gap. Do you have any idea what might be causing the grinding?
Thanks,
Mike

Answer
Hi mike was the noise there prior to the wheels and tires being replaced or did it happen after they were replaced? If it onlt happened after the tires maybe you have a clearance issue wher the tire it rubbing on the body?? with out hearing it it's hard to say and I'm realy not quite sure what bushing yout talking about.. are you talking about a stabalizer link? these cars were noted for control arm bushing in the rear of the front arm pulling out of the arm It's possable that thathappned and on a sharp turn the suspension is moving and then the tire is rubbing??? Maybe the stabalizer link broke? ?
Good luck :)
