Pontiac Repair: pontiac grand prix removing of the key from at the column, pontiac grand prix, pontiac

Just a few days ago I had trouble removing the key from the ignition at the column. What may be the cause for this problem. This on a 2000 Grand Prix 4dr., with a 3800 non turbo with 117k on it.

Hi Bob:

the issue you have going on here is related the the floor shifter either the shifter it's self is bad or ir has a wire broken off right at the connector that plugs into the shifter. Usually nothing else goes wrong with this system other then that.
